CHICAGO (February 13, 2025) — The National Rosacea Society (NRS) today announced that it is accepting applications for funding from its research grants program, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2025. Supported exclusively by individual donations from rosacea sufferers, the NRS research grants program has awarded more than $1.7 million to support 78 studies since 2000, with the goal of increasing knowledge and understanding of the potential causes and other key aspects of rosacea that may lead to improvements in its treatment, prevention and potential cure.

CHICAGO (Sept. 14, 2022) — Researchers have long observed that microscopic mites that live as scavengers on normal human skin tend to occur in greater numbers on the faces of rosacea patients. It was unknown, however, whether the higher density of these microorganisms, known as Demodex, was a cause or an effect of this widespread disease affecting 16 million Americans.

BARRINGTON, Illinois (August 2, 2022) — The great majority of rosacea patients have experienced persistent facial redness, and most of them report it is the most frequently bothersome sign they face, according to a recent National Rosacea Society (NRS) survey on rosacea redness sponsored by EPI Health. Furthermore, two-thirds reported experiencing flare-ups more than once a week.
